What will you do to reform taxes?​

I plan to fix loopholes in our tax system so that the upper will no longer be able to avoid paying their fair share. I will adjust corporate tax rates that have not kept up with inflation; they should be readjusted to match the growth of the GDP. Inflation-adjusted gross domestic product has risen 153% since 1980, while inflation-adjusted corporate tax receipts were 115% higher in fiscal 2015 than in fiscal 1980, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

What is your stance on the Affordable Care Act?

Healthcare is an inalienable right that should be available to everyone, and the US is the only developed nation in the world that does not offer healthcare to every citizen as a basic right. However, state sponsored healthcare should not be mandatory for everyone, and citizens should have the right to choose an affordable healthcare option that supports their interests.

How do you plan to fix our Education System?

As president, I pledge to increase funding for both public and private schools. I will also reduce the cost of college tuition by educating students about the different ways they can receive financial aid and expanding the amount and number of scholarships, grants, 0% interest loans, and work study programs offered.​ In addition,  I plan to significantly decrease standardized testing for students, replacing it with qualitative performance reviews and portfolios of their work.

I also pledge to redesign teacher evaluations, so that teachers are valued more than tests results, and they can be less concerned with ‘teaching to the test’. I will also delay school start times across the country, as this has been proven to increase student happiness and test scores. Its effectiveness was tested by delaying the start times of 10 high schools in Michigan and showed that the delay corresponded with increased test scores. Lastly, I will eliminate the school to prison pipeline that has become increasingly apparent in certain ethnic groups and communities.

How do you plan to adjust EPA regulations?

Although the EPA is portrayed as an agency that only seeks to restrict businesses, in reality most of the EPA’s numerous policies simply protect citizens from hazardous substances (including asbestos, toxic chemicals, and lead).The Sierra Club, a 120-year-old conservation nonprofit, estimates that legislation administered by the EPA prevented more than 200,000 premature deaths from air pollutants, cleaned more than 2,000 polluted rivers and lakes, and was instrumental in the eradication of dangerous chemicals such as DDT and PCB. However, the EPA isn’t perfect and I seek to reform its few policies that do harm businesses while still protecting the environment. The reality is that there are plenty of ways to protect the environment while maintaining that our businesses stay competitive.

What are your plans for our Foreign Policy?

I want to reduce the role of the military of the United States in foreign affairs. Our military interventions in the modern era have brought about violence and destruction, as well as a drastically more negative view of the United States and the West as a whole in the Middle East. A massive amount of our budget is diverted to the continued operation of military bases around the world so that local communities live in fear of our power. I would instead put funds toward improving our military and veterans affairs at home. The Department of Veteran Affairs estimates that 3 in 5 veterans experience some degree of depression or PTSD—we need to increase funding for this issue and take care of our soldiers.
